Horadam Gouache offers excellent painting properties. The range of 48 fine gouache colours are traditionally based on Gum Arabic and made with only the best, genuine artist pigments. This highest concentration of pigments guarantees luminosity and depth of all colours. HORADAM® GOUACHE can be used directly from the tube or thinned with water. The colours dry to a matt surface and therefore take on a slightly lighter colour. After drying Horadam Gouache can be wetted and reworked on all types of absorbing and non-absorbing paper, carton and canvas. Due to the extra-fine pigment grain sizes these fine artist colours can also be applied using a 0.15mm fine airbrush.
For painting techniques requiring opaque colours to cover larger areas, Horadam Gouache offers a complementary medium to Schmincke's internationally renowned top quality Horadam Aquarell colours. Both ranges can be intermixed. On account of their different surface effects as they serve different, complementary modes of artistic expression: the Horadam Aquarell series is translucent and allows the paper to "shine through", while Horadam Gouache's effect derives from the rich, opaque, pastel-like, intensive pigment layer.
