Genuine 22ct gold pigment watercolour.

Shell gold is made from pieces of actual ground gold (for instance leftover from the gilding process). Named for the medieval use of sea-shells to hold such pigments.

It can be used to repairs to gilded surfaces, or for creating highlights. Shell gold does not require sizing, like powdered gold. And has a gum arabic base.
