Malachite
Green pigment derived from the mineral malachite, a form of copper carbonate hydroxide. This pigment has been used in art for centuries, prized for its rich, earthy green hue.
The raw malachite mineral is crushed and ground into a fine powder, then washed and refined to remove impurities.
Its tone is slightly muted compared to modern synthetic greens. Semi-opaque. Moderately lightfast. While it is stable under normal indoor conditions, prolonged exposure to humidity or acidic environments can degrade the pigment over time.
Milled in refined linseed oil. No fillers, driers or waxes added.
Retains a slight granularity due to the nature of the mineral.
Drying Time: Relative fast drying due to copper content.
Toxicity: Malachite is toxic. Must be handled with care. Protecive clothing and gloves should be worn to prevent contact with skin.
